Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: 28 July 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you can and can't do when using Postia (the "Service"). It applies to everyone who uses an account on the Service ("you", "Customer") and forms part of our Terms of Service. Breaching this AUP may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of your account, as set out in Section 5.

We've written this policy specifically to protect our standing with Pinterest's API and our other customers, as well as to keep Postia a safe, spam-free platform.

1. Why This Policy Exists

Postia connects to your Pinterest account via Pinterest's official Developer Platform and requires your approval before any pin is posted. This access is a privilege, not a right, and misuse by any customer risks Pinterest restricting access for everyone on the platform. This policy exists to keep that access compliant and to keep Postia a trustworthy tool for genuine Etsy, Shopify, and other e-commerce sellers.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use Postia to:

  • Connect Pinterest account(s) that you own or are authorised to manage
  • Import and pin content from Etsy listings, Shopify products, or other e-commerce/digital products you own or are authorised to promote
  • Schedule and approve pins for genuine marketing purposes related to your own products, services, or content

3. Prohibited Uses

3.1 Violate Pinterest's own rules

  • Post content that violates Pinterest's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Advertising Guidelines, or Developer Platform policies
  • Attempt to bypass Postia's per-pin approval step or otherwise post content to Pinterest without your own review and approval
  • Exceed reasonable posting volumes in a way designed to manipulate Pinterest's algorithm (e.g. artificial engagement, coordinated inauthentic posting)
  • Use the Service to operate bot networks, fake accounts, or engagement farms

3.2 Post prohibited or harmful content

  • Illegal products or services, or content that violates any applicable law
  • Counterfeit goods or content that infringes someone else's intellectual property, trademark, or copyright
  • Sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, violent, or otherwise objectionable content
  • Content promoting self-harm, dangerous misinformation (including health or financial misinformation), or content targeting protected characteristics
  • Content related to weapons, illegal drugs, or other restricted goods under Pinterest's advertising and merchant policies
  • Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, or "get rich quick" style offers

3.3 Misuse the platform

  • Share, sell, sublicense, or provide account access to anyone not authorised on your plan
  • Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, or engage in phishing
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to Postia's systems, other customers' data, or Pinterest's platform via unofficial means
  • Upload files (including CSV imports) containing malware, malicious code, or content designed to disrupt the Service
  • Misrepresent your identity, impersonate another person or business, or provide false account information
  • Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or plan restrictions through technical workarounds or multiple accounts
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair Postia's infrastructure or Pinterest's API access

3.4 Upload data you don't have rights to

You must have the right to upload and process any CSV, listing data, images, or other content you import into Postia — including ensuring you have appropriate rights over any personal data (such as customer names or reviews) it may contain.

4. Your Responsibility for Approved Content

Postia's per-pin approval step means you review and approve every pin before it's posted. You're responsible for the content of anything you approve, even if it was generated or suggested by Postia.

5. Enforcement

If we reasonably believe you've breached this AUP, we may, depending on severity:

  1. Send a warning and request you remove or correct the offending content or behaviour
  2. Temporarily suspend pin scheduling or your Pinterest connection
  3. Suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, particularly where we believe continued use risks Postia's Pinterest API access or the safety of other users
  4. Report illegal activity to the relevant authorities where required

We aim to be proportionate and will generally warn first for minor or first-time issues, except where the breach is severe (e.g. illegal content, attempts to compromise the Service, or activity that puts our API access at risk), in which case we may act immediately without prior warning.

6. Reporting Misuse

If you believe another user is violating this policy, or you've received a pin or message that seems to violate it, contact us at support@getpostia.com.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time, particularly to reflect changes in Pinterest's own platform policies. We'll update the effective date above and notify active customers of material changes.
